
Another dog attack was reported on March 2 in Shahadra’s Jagatpuri. According to the police’s official statement, the girl was playing outside her home on Friday night when the dog attacked her out of the blue and pulled her till neighbours came to her help.
The officer said, “The girl’s condition was reported to be out of danger when she was brought to a hospital by her mother.”
To determine the incident’s timeline, police transcribed the girl’s mother’s testimony and examined nearby CCTV video.
Shivanand Bhaskar, the owner of the dog, is the subject of a case under Indian Penal Code sections 289 (negligent act with respect to animal) and 337 (causing harm by act endangering life or personal safety of others), and an investigation has been started, according to the police.
In the past several weeks, there have been multiple dug bite incidences in Delhi. In the Tughlak Road neighbourhood of Central Delhi last week, a two-year-old child was reportedly mauled to death by a group of stray dogs. On February 15, a man beat an autorickshaw driver and his dog attacked him several times for reportedly requesting that the animal be kept on a leash.
In Vishwas Nagar, northeast Delhi, on January 22, a two-year-old child was allegedly assaulted by a domestic dog. The day before, a seven-year-old youngster sustained injuries in the Mahendra Park neighbourhood of northwest Delhi during what was purportedly a Pitbull assault.
An American Bully is said to have attacked a seven-year-old child in the Shahbad Dairy neighbourhood when she was playing close to her house. at another instance, at Burari’s Uttarakhand Colony, a Pitbull is accused of stealing an eighteen-month-old girl of her grandfather’s lap and attacking her.
